FAQ

Q: I am getting an error when checking out, what is going wrong?

A: Our Webstore has a $1.99 minimum purchase, and this is the most common error we receive. If your Order is above the minimum and you are continuing to have challenges, please reach out to us at firstplayercanada@outlook.com or at First Player Canada on Facebook.

Q: I am trying to create an account and it is not accepting my phone number. What do I do?
A: When signing up for an Account with the First Player Webstore, please input your phone number in this format (XXX) XXX-XXXX. If the problem persists beyond that, please contact us at firstplayercanada@outook.com

Q: I have placed an order with First Player and received a confirmation email. When should I expect my order?

A: All orders are fulfilled in the order they arrived.

Orders scheduled for Lettermail and other shipping methods are subject to the delivery schedule of Canada Post. Please take holidays and weekends into account when expecting an order being delivered.

Q: My order is incomplete or incorrect. What do I do?

A: Please contact us right away with any errors or missing items on your order. Any errors made by First Player will be corrected, free of charge. We take pride in getting our orders right, the first time. Reach us anytime at firstplayercanada@outlook.com

Q: I cannot find the product I am looking for on the First Player Webstore. Can you help me?

A: Absolutely. With our inventory growing every day, it is possible the item you are looking for is not yet available or is out of stock. If the item is out of stock, feel free to add it to your Wishlist, and we will notify you when it is in-stock again. If the item you are looking for is not coming up in your search, please contact us and we will do our best to get it for you.

Q: I would like to trade or sell my cards to First Player. Do you accept cards for trade or buy and how do I do that?

A: Yes, we are accepting Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Disney Lorcana and One Piece Card Singles. We offer Store Credit for card singles, and the Store Credit price for each card is shown by selecting "Sell this Product" on any product page. Alternatively, you can choose to browse our Buylist and submit a list of cards. Once the cards are received, we will grade the cards and reply with a total Store Credit that will be applied to your account. If you are looking to sell a collection of cards, or submit a very large number of cards for credit, and you are in the Calgary area, please contact us for arrangements.

Q: What new products are available to order through First Player?

A: At First Player we are always growing our inventory to offer a larger selection and more choice to you. Some products are in limited supply, or are not available to us yet. Check back on your desired product, or add it to your Wishlist to be notified when it is in stock. For any special requests, you are welcome to contact us at firstplayercanada@outlook.com and we will always do our best for you. 

Q: What payment methods does First Player accept?

A: Currently, First Player accepts: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Visa Debit, as well as payment through Store Credit. Please note Store Credit may be unavailable during certain Events. We also offer a 'Pay in Store' option for customers looking to pay with Cash or Debit upon Pick Up.

Q: Does First Player accept all Buylisted Items?

A: No. First Player reserves the right to decline any and all Buylisted Items. Some items may be over our threshold for the amount of inventory we wish to keep in-stock. At other times, certain items may experience buy-outs which artificially cause the Buylist price to spike very high, and we may decline these items. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your Buylist, please contact us at firstplayercanada@outlook.com

Q: Can I purchase any number of copies of any one Product?

A: Yes, with some exceptions. With our Playset Policy, we reserve the right to limit any purchase of card singles to a playset, that is, 4 copies. We are a Community of Players and we want all Players to have an opportunity to enjoy our products.

Q: Does First Player ship products other than Card Singles?

A: Yes! We ship all Products to any address in Canada. The Lettermail service from Canada Post is only for Card Singles. Please choose the Parcel option for purchases containing products other than card singles.

Q: I have chosen "Pay in store" for my Payment Method. What payment options are available in store? Also, where is your Store?

A: Available Payment Methods are: Cash, Debit, and Credit, along with Store Credit. Our Showroom Location is the sole Pick Up location currently, located at: Bay #140, 1212 34 Ave SE, Calgary, AB. See our About Us page for detailed directions.
Unpaid Orders may be voided 2 Weeks after the Order is placed. Please reach out to us at firstplayercanada@outlook.com if you need make alternative arrangements.

Q: What is the difference between "Plain White Envelope" shipping and "Bubblemailer" shipping?

A: Plain White Envelope shipping is our lowest cost shipping method. We can ship up to 20 card singles, unsleeved with this method. Bubblemailer shipping includes sleeves on all cards at $5 and up, and a Top Loader on all cards $50 and up. We don't limit the number of card singles with Bubblemailer shipping, although large orders may require multiple Bubble Mailers to be shipped.

Q: What is a "PLAY Card"?

A: For Players that participate in our Events, they will receive a PLAY Card, and will receive one Stamp on their card for each Event attended. Each Stamp will allow that Player to receive a 1% Discount on their in-store purchases, up to a Maximum of 10%. Excluded from the discount are: Event Entries, Pre-orders and Gift Certificates. Discounts are applied after any Store Credit use. Each PLAY Card is good for one Season or 10 Weeks and expires thereafter; to be replaced with a new card each season. The dates of each Season are printed on each card. PLAY Cards must be presented at time of purchase to receive the discount.

Q: Does First Player accept Pre-orders on upcoming Products?

A: Yes. Pre-orders for Products are available in the Pre-Order section on www.firstplayer.ca. Not all products are available for Pre-Order. Payment is required prior to the release date of the Pre-order Products. Pre-Order products are not eligible for Discounts such as Coupons or the PLAY Card discount. Pre-Order Products will be held for 2 weeks from release date. We will always make an effort to contact the purchaser of any Pre-order products that were not picked up by the release date before returning them to inventory.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel or change my Order before picking up?

A: We understand that changes can happen. Please contact us so as to save us from producing any unneeded orders. If the Order is processed and changes are required, a restocking fee may be required to account for our employee's time filling the order.

Q: My Order was Cancelled or Voided, why is that?

A: In some circumstances, it may be neccessary for the betterment of the Community and for the health of business, that orders found or suspected of potential fraud or automated orders (otherwise known at 'Bot Purchases') to be cancelled or voided by us. Please contact us directly if you have experienced a cancelled order unnecessarily.
